Gender Justice League members have been meeting to identify key projects that will lead to our first annual cycle of programming, to commence in the spring of 2013. These projects include gathering key communities, leaders, and stake holders together to help inform our program cycle, defining our mission, values, vision, and theory of change that will guide our work in the coming years. We are also very proud to announce that this year, partnered with Seattle Out and Proud, Gender Justice League will be hosting Seattle’s very first Trans* Pride!!! We are very grateful to be given this opportunity to help celebrate our incredible community and it’s allies!
In late summer GJL will host a leadership retreat to build and develop our first cohort of activists to lead our first annual cycle of programming. This 2-day leadership retreat will focus on a political education from an intersectional approach of addressing social justice issues, mobilization and organizing techniques, and competency based skills to execute key programming (advocacy, speaker’s bureau, facilitator training, art/media projects, and community/education/cultural events).
